Thesis: Zamyatin uses the symbols of glass, the great operation and the Table of Hours in WE to warn against the suspension of civil liberties in times of conflict for security revealing that people need to balance the protection of their civil liberties with security.
i didnt really know where to post this, but here is the thesis statement that i came up with:
through the novel WE, Yevgeny Zamyatin conveys the idea that external and internal confict in a society balence through the balencing of Previous external conflict(200 years war) and the need for protection(glass) and uprising within the current society(I-330) against the previously created protection(breaking the glass sheild). Zamyatin does this in order to reveal the constant balence of internal vs. external peace in a society.
i know my "So What?" is a little off. please dont take this and make it our thesis, i would very much like you to understand it and interpret it in a way that makes sense ^_^. im good at ideas, just not communicating them. please post questions or something, i will be checking frequently as i work on my LAB. -tyyl will dewald
